Introduction

I WANT IT NOW!

Analyze Where You Are in Life Discover Your PASSION and Achieve Ultimate Happiness

Na’Kisha Crawford, M.Ed

INTRODUCTION

Iwas once told to jump in there and let it flow when I had something to say that I felt was important, so here it is. I am very passionate about the things that I feel, and I want to share with readers the things that I have learned. Which brings me to the point, why I wrote a book about my experiences and the real life lessons that I have learned.

I enjoy sharing with and helping others, and I have always known that my occupation would somehow involve those things. As a young person, most of us have a hard time determining what we are going to be in life, and in fact, we find that a tough decision to make even as mature adults. Our hobbies or the specifics of how we spend our spare time may change in life as we become more experienced, cultured, or knowledgeable, but our passions remain a core part of who we are, of our identity. I have always been passionate about helping others, and this book is an expression of that core passion that makes me who I am.

It is my goal to inspire and motivate others. I want people to find what makes them happy in life, to find their passions. Life challenges each of us with experiences and lessons that, if we share them with others, will make the same or like experiences for others just a bit less challenging, a bit less harrowing perhaps. Discovering those things that make you feel good is a learning game, but getting to the point where you can accept both those things that are enjoyable along with those that are not so much fun as a natural part of life is a bigger objective for our learning. Many people believe that life is going to be hard regardless, so when something feels too good, they believe something has to be wrong. The truth of the matter is that life is indeed hard, but the truth is also that time keeps ticking. We can either accept that having hard times means that there is no room for personal growth and development or for improvement in our selves and our lives, or we can seek to find all of the wonderful things in the world that make us happy while learning from our harsher experiences.

I share my beliefs and experiences to, hopefully, inspire you. My plan is to offer you some suggestions to get started on working toward your goals, and perhaps to help some of you get back on track and stay there. I want people to identify their professional and personal goals, or to revisit them as the case may be, and to have the confidence to step out on faith and to make changes in their lives. Some of us have become overwhelmed because we have been so busy taking on other people’s problems that we have for- gotten about our goals, for example. For such readers, it is time to figure out how to put yourself back into the equation.

Some people wonder if they should take chances now or wait for those life-altering experiences to land in their laps, while many others are working to see how far their chosen careers will take them. Now is the time to evaluate where you are in life, discover what you want and go out and get it. It is time to start working on your personal journey toward ultimate happiness, to put yourself back into the equation, and to seek others who support your interest in personal growth and development.

Malicious mobile code

Halaman Judul
Malicious mobile code is a new term to describe all sorts of destructive programs: viruses, worms, Trojans, and rogue Internet content. Until fairly recently, experts worried mostly about computer viruses that spread only through executable files, not data files, and certainly not through email exchange. The Melissa virus and the Love Bug proved the experts wrong, attacking Windows computers when recipients did nothing more than open an email. Today, writing programs is easier than ever, and so is writing malicious code. The idea that someone could write malicious code and spread it to 60 million computers in a matter of hours is no longer a fantasy. The good news is that there are effective ways to thwart Windows malicious code attacks, and author Roger Grimes maps them out in Malicious Mobile Code: Virus Protection for Windows. His opening chapter on the history of malicious code and the multi-million dollar anti-virus industry sets the stage for a comprehensive rundown on today's viruses and the nuts and bolts of protecting a system from them. He ranges through the best ways to configure Windows for maximum protection, what a DOS virus can and can't do, what today's biggest threats are, and other important and frequently surprising information. For example, how many people know that joining a chat discussion can turn one's entire computer system into an open book? Malicious Mobile Code delivers the strategies, tips, and tricks to secure a system against attack. It covers:
  • The current state of the malicious code writing and cracker community
  • How malicious code works, what types there are, and what it can and cannot do
  • Common anti-virus defenses, including anti-virus software
  • How malicious code affects the various Windows operating systems, and how to recognize, remove, and prevent it
  • Macro viruses affecting MS Word, MS Excel, and VBScript
  • Java applets and ActiveX controls
  • Enterprise-wide malicious code protection
  • Hoaxes
  • The future of malicious mobile code and how to combat such code
These days, when it comes to protecting both home computers and company networks against malicious code, the stakes are higher than ever. Malicious Mobile Code is the essential guide for securing a system from catastrophic loss.

Books of the year 2008

The New Statesman's round up of the best books of 2008 as suggested by critics and contributors including David Marquand, Tahmima Anam, Fatima Bhutto and Anthony Howard

Tim Adams

Julian Barnes's Nothing to Be Frightened of (Cape, £16.99) is a nice corrective to the one-note atheism of Dawkins and the rest. It is human, clever and full of doubt: "I don't believe in God, but I miss him . . ." Nicholson Baker's Human Smoke (Simon & Schuster, £20) makes you challenge all you thought you knew about Churchill, and about war. The book I have carried with me all year, though, is Mick Imlah's The Lost Leader (Faber & Faber, £9.99). Imlah's poetry is that rare combination of erudition and conversation: perfectly crafted lines from the heart. The collection dwells on the idea of Scotland, of how where we come from shapes where we end up; it contains memorable meditations on a nation's heroes, never forgetting that it is the local and particular which stays with us. Imlah's voice holds all the histories together, easy as a ballad, forever crackling with one-liners.

Fatema Ahmed

How to Talk About Books You Haven't Read by Pierre Bayard (Granta, £12) is not a self-help book for lazy book reviewers, but an entertaining essay on literature, anxiety and the canon, and the eighth instalment in the author's "Paradoxes" series. Bayard is the kind of French academic who is more interested in how we can change Proust than in how Proust can change us. He also knows who killed Agatha Christie's Roger Ackroyd and who was really killed in The Hound of the Baskervilles. Someone should translate and publish the whole series in time for next Christmas. Beautiful Image by Marcel AymĂ© (Pushkin Press, £12) is a novel about a man who finds one day that he has a different face. It is less unsettling than Kafka, but its combination of charm and creepiness is pleasantly disorientating. More

KISAH NABI MUHAMMAD SAW

MUHAMMAD, ‘alaihi’sh-shalatu wassalam

Continue....

The Year in Books

Book CoverEmily Bazelon, senior editor and legal writer

My favorite new nonfiction book this year is Tulia, by Nate Blakeslee. It's the story of the wrongful prosecution of 47 residents of the town of Tulia, Tex.—38 of them black—based on the made-up testimony of one rogue cop. Some of the defendants got virtual life sentences before the case unraveled. Blakeslee broke the story for the Texas Observer. His book has movie deal written all over it. There's a rich and unlikely mix of characters—devious bad guys, likable victims, and valiant lawyer-heroes who wield their briefcases to save the day. It all makes for a satisfying tale about fighting the good fight.

Book CoverDavid Greenberg, "History Lesson" columnist
The best book of "recent history" this year is Restless Giant: The United States From Watergate to Bush v. Gore, by James T. Patterson. After his 1996 Bancroft Prize-winning tour de force Grand Expectations: The United States, 1945–1974, what does the Brown University historian do for an encore? Turn out an equally readable, smart, and fair-minded history of the last century's final quarter. A book like Restless Giant must be impossibly hard to write, since you need to keep in focus both yesterday's news, which lies so close to our present gaze, and events that have already receded into the historical distance. Patterson pulls it off—and in the process mounts a quietly persuasive defense of the "right revolution" that he argues has been central to American politics and society in recent times. more..........
